.

Between 1985 to 2018, I served as the curator of the Museum of Education.

No other project has been so rewarding as I have sought not only to conserve and transmit but also to expand and rectify the traditions of education in South Carolina and in our region.

Service to the State of South Carolina:

I continue to assist the Shady Grove Campground trumpeter to ensure the continuation of the tradition of horn blowing since the campground's founding in the late 1870s.
Beginning in 1993, I have provided trumpets for Shady Grove Campground (Dorchester County, South Carolina, near the Orangeburg County line), an historically-significant educational institution in the African American community of South Carolina.
